Electromagnetism and Optics
Understanding the nature of electricity, magnetism and the electromagnetic spectrum is a journey that has spanned centuries and has included such big names as Isaac Newton, André-Marie Ampère and, arguably most famously, James Clerk Maxwell.
Whilst understanding light itself is important, the ability to manipulate and use light has shaped the face of modern society, from using lasers for fibre optic internet to 3D cinema technology.
